  Your vs You're....Its vs It's....There vs Their..

  writing and speaking is all about communication.. if we are casually engaged the level of precision vanishes.

  simple ideas=simplified language.. but, as we attempt to convey accuracy, specificity and numerical precision--what then?

  without a clear standard is proper communication headed for extinction?.

  Where do you draw the line?

  Everyone has different limits and language evolves.

  In time words change not just spelling but meaning too.

  I am happy to let nature take it's course and not sweat the little stuff. I used to be anal about it too but I think it is because we had it drummed into us as kids we looked ignorant or uneducated if we got it wrong but really, is it that important if the correct meaning is conveyed.

  Read in context most know which is the correct intention regardless of the spelling

  Tonight on Channel 4 prog about Child Abuse !!!

  the programme is at 10.30 gmt and is a channel 4 dispatches special about child abuse in a religious community.

  i think this is concerned with a case within the jewish religious community here.. i think we all in the u.k, and anyone else who can access it, should watch it , and then perhaps many of us can e-mail the programmes makers and highlight the jw problem.

  the jewish religious community is probably only about twice the size of the u.k jw's, about 266, 000 identified as jewish in a religious sense in the 2001 census.

  Sickening Dilemma

  i would like to have your opinions on what i should do about a situation please.. i have recently discovered that a 'brother' in the congregation (which i no longer attend) is a child molester.

  i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.

  the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.

  Tell every-one but make sure your identity is not compromised as the repurcussions for you could be horrendous, but still not as horrendous as not saying anything for the next abused child.

  How would you cope with the guilt if you did nothing and another child suffered at his hands?

  i don't have children, and my wife and i decided not to have any, so we have kittens.

  we rescued some kittens and they were in pretty bad shape when they came home.

  thought one might not make it.

  i haven't been on here regularly in many years, but i know what it is like for many; or those that are on their way of exiting the organization.. what songs do you recall or remember during your exodus from the wtbts ??.

  As I was not a born in I had to get rid of favourite music to qualify for baptism so I immediately downloaded my favourite music from my pre-witness days.

  Animals demonized

  just wondering, do christians feel animals can be demonized?

  i wonder, as i have some questions about demonized.

  does the demon become the person, and send the person packing to some sort of waiting room?

  You will soon have enough material to just do JW stuff like the guy who does mainly deaf stuff and is one of the funniest new comedians I have seen for ages.

  He is so good deaf people go to watch him and he has a signer on stage with him. He signs his responses back to the deaf in the audience as well. It's a brilliant show.

  Edited to add. It would be fantastic to have a famous standup known for being an exjw doing jw jokes.

  For the Faders...

  this is for my fellow faders...just checking to see how it is going for ya'll?.

  i know it can be tough...my fade has been going well thus far...hopefully it remains the same!.

  people may think of you differently...as being distracted...no longer loving jehovah...giving in to the world ect.... now i couldn't care less what any of them think of me...i went into town a few days go where some jw's were doing street work at the local market and i walked by them like they never even existed .

  I have been fading for 3 years now but as I never go out locally but always in my car I have avoided all contact with witnesses.

  I am moving house soon and was hoping to relocate to an area no-one knew me but it is looking more likely I will be staying in the same area. I will have shops literally on my doorstep so might easily be bumping into some in the very near future.

  I will plan several different responses for such occasions. Some for those who recognise me and some for those who do not.
